Oculus Quest has us equally excited here at Stambol. When we used the word ‘practical’ in the title of this post, it was by no means meant to be a buzzkill.
These days, when we talk about the changing ‘face’ of VR, we’re not necessarily referencing industry leaders. In this post, we’re talking specifically about the capacity to successfully recreate a realistic digital human face. And in this respect, the future is already here.

Remember getting that first buzzing jolt out of a Rumble Pak? The science behind that kind of tech is called Haptics. A realistic sense of touch is one of the biggest pieces of the full immersion puzzle, completing an experience that involves any kind of contact.

In most cases, the human brain learns best with good old-fashioned hands-on training. Many of us can attest to the value of learning by doing from personal experience. For this reason, mid-century educator Edgar Dale’s Cone of Experience suggests that a real experience is by far the most effective method of learning.
